This Product Care Guide outlines recommended practices to maintain the quality and longevity of your footwear and forms part of our customer usage guidelines under applicable laws including the Consumer Protection Act, 2019 and the Consumer Protection (E-Commerce) Rules, 2020.

 

1. General Care Guidelines

• To preserve the appearance and durability of your footwear, we recommend:
• Avoid prolonged exposure to water, moisture, and direct sunlight
• Store footwear in a cool, dry, and well-ventilated space
• Use the original dust bag or box when not in use
• Clean gently using appropriate material-specific methods
• Avoid rough usage on abrasive or uneven surfaces

Footwear is subject to natural wear and tear depending on frequency of use, environmental conditions, and handling practices.

 

2. Care Based on Material Type

Faux / Vegan Leather

• Wipe gently using a soft dry or slightly damp cloth
• Use mild soap solution only when necessary
• Avoid alcohol-based or chemical cleaners

Do Not:

• Soak in water
• Machine wash
• Scrub aggressively

Allow to air dry naturally.

 

Genuine Leather

• Clean regularly with a soft dry cloth
• Use leather conditioner periodically
• Store away from humidity

Avoid:

• Water exposure
• Direct heat or sunlight
• Damp storage conditions

Natural creases, grains, and texture variations are inherent characteristics of genuine leather.

 

Suede & Nubuck

• Clean using a suede brush only
• Use protective spray before first wear
• Store in dry conditions

Avoid:

• Water or liquid contact
• Oil stains
• Rough brushing

These materials are delicate and require careful handling.

 

Fabric & Textile Footwear

• Brush off dirt using a soft brush
• Spot clean with mild soap if required
• Air dry completely

Avoid:

• Machine washing (unless specified)
• Bleach or strong detergents
• Excessive soaking

Color fading may occur over time due to use and washing.

 

Embellished & Handcrafted Designs

Footwear featuring:

• Hand embroidery
• Beads, stones, or metallic accents
• Hand-finished detailing

requires extra care.

Recommended:

• Store separately to prevent friction
• Handle gently while wearing and storing

Avoid:

• Pressure, impact, or bending
• Moisture exposure

Minor variations are a hallmark of handcrafted artistry and not defects.

 

3. Storage Practices

• For optimal preservation:
• Store in original packaging or dust bags
• Avoid stacking heavy items over footwear
• Use shoe fillers or paper stuffing to retain shape
• Allow footwear to air out after each use

Improper storage may result in deformation, discoloration, or reduced durability.

 

3A. Travel Care

• When transporting footwear during travel:
• Store footwear in dust bags whenever possible
• Avoid crushing or placing heavy objects over footwear
• Keep embellished footwear separate from other items to reduce friction and damage
• Ensure footwear is completely dry before packing

Proper travel storage helps preserve shape, embellishments, and overall product appearance.

 

4. Water & Weather Exposure

NUKH footwear is primarily designed for lifestyle and occasion wear.

Unless specifically advertised as water-resistant, NUKH footwear should not be exposed to excessive water, prolonged moisture, or repeated wet conditions.

We strongly recommend avoiding:

• Rain or wet surfaces
• Puddles or damp environments
• Prolonged exposure to humidity

Damage such as:

• Color bleeding
• Sole separation
• Texture distortion caused by water exposure shall not be treated as manufacturing defects.

 

5. Cleaning Guidelines

Before cleaning:

• Remove loose dirt using a soft cloth or brush
• Test any cleaning product on a hidden area

Recommended:

• Microfiber cloth
• Mild soap solution
• Material-specific cleaners

Avoid:

• Harsh chemicals or bleach
• Alcohol or acetone-based cleaners
• Machine drying or heat exposure

Always dry footwear at room temperature.

Avoid Direct Contact With:

• Perfumes
• Deodorants
• Hand sanitizers
• Nail polish remover
• Cosmetics and beauty products

 

6. Usage Advisory

Footwear should be used according to its intended purpose.

Please avoid:

• Sports or high-impact activities
• Rough terrain usage
• Excess pressure on heels or delicate elements
• Wearing incorrect size or fit

Misuse may lead to product damage and reduced lifespan.

 

7. Color, Finish & Handmade Variations

Please note:

·       Slight color variations may occur due to lighting or screen settings

·       Handcrafted products may exhibit minor differences in texture or finish

·       Metallic or coated finishes may fade over time

These characteristics are inherent to the product and shall not be considered defects.

 

8. Manufacturing Defects

If you believe your product has a manufacturing defect, please notify us within 30 days of delivery.
Examples of Manufacturing Defects

Manufacturing defects may include, without limitation:

• Detached sole without evidence of misuse or abnormal wear
• Stitching failure under normal usage conditions
• Broken buckles, hardware, or embellishments due to production faults
• Structural failure resulting from manufacturing defects rather than wear and tear

Determination of a manufacturing defect shall be made following inspection by NUKH.

After inspection, we may offer:

·       Repair

·       Replacement

·       Store credit

To facilitate review, customers may be requested to provide photographs, videos, proof of purchase, or return the product for physical inspection before a determination is made.

 

NUKH will endeavor to review reported manufacturing defects within 7–14 business days after receiving all required information and materials. During festive periods, promotional campaigns, sales events, or periods of unusually high demand, review timelines may reasonably be extended.

 

Not considered defects:

·       Normal wear and tear,

o    Sole abrasion resulting from regular use

o    Natural creasing of upper materials

o    Minor fading or discoloration over time

o    Heel wear from everyday usage

o    Surface scuffs and cosmetic marks

·       Water damage

·       Scratches or external damage

·       Improper storage or care

·       Unauthorized repairs

Following inspection, NUKH will determine the appropriate resolution based on the nature of the issue, available evidence, and applicable policies. Nothing in this Product Care Guide limits any rights available to consumers under applicable law.

9. Hygiene & Usage Disclaimer

·       Footwear must be tried indoors on clean surfaces before use

·       Products showing signs of wear may not qualify for return or exchange

This ensures hygiene and quality standards for all customers.

 

10. Sustainability Commitment

At NUKH, we believe mindful care extends the life of each handcrafted piece and reduces unnecessary waste.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, NUKH shall not be responsible for damage arising from:

·       Improper care or maintenance

·       Environmental exposure

·       Incorrect cleaning methods

·       Water or moisture exposure

·       Normal wear and tear

·       Third-party repairs or alterations

Customers are advised to follow this guide to ensure optimal product performance.

Nothing contained in this Product Care Guide shall limit, exclude, or otherwise affect any rights available to consumers under applicable law.
